"President Putin expressed deep condolences to the relatives and friends of Galina Volchek in connection with her death," RIA Novosti quoted the press secretary of Russian leader Dmitry Peskov.
Putin knew Volchek well and met with her repeatedly, he added.
Galina Volchek died on December 26 at the 87th year of her life.
Farewell to her will be held on December 29 at 11:00 in the Sovremennik Theater, and the funeral will be held at the Novodevichy Cemetery.
