Born September 26, 2017, France 24 in Spanish is about to experience a new stage in its young history, Friday December 20, at 6 p.m. (Bogota time, noon in Paris), doubling its daily broadcast. The two existing live bands (6 a.m. - 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. - 10 p.m., Bogota time) will thus be completed by a new six-hour band (12 p.m. - 6 p.m.), with magazines, debates reports, newspapers and news flashes every 30 minutes.

The program schedule, which already included two programs produced jointly with RFI in Spanish - "En Primera Plana", where analysts and correspondents from the international press comment on the highlights of the news, and "Escala in Paris", go with personalities from the world of art, science, politics and sport - is expanding to a third joint magazine, "Carrusel de las Artes", which offers an overview of French cultural news.

France 24 in Spanish is now broadcast in 17 of the 19 Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America as well as in Brazil and is accessible in 8 million homes, to which are added 12 million homes with partial distribution in Mexico. In Colombia, Argentina and Mexico, the channel attracts almost 2 million viewers every week.

On the digital front, France 24 in Spanish records nearly a million visits each month (+ 67% compared to 2018) and has more than 33.4 million videos viewed on YouTube since January 2019 - a figure multiplied by five in a year.

The increase in the daily volume of programs in Spanish should enable France 24 to continue to develop its distribution and its audience in the region. This development is made possible at no additional cost thanks to an evolution of the technical system making it possible to dissociate the production management in Bogota and that of distribution in Paris.
