The eighth session of the Hamriyah Child Festival, organized by the Department of Social Services, was launched in the Heritage Village of Al Hamriyah City, Sharjah, which will run until December 30th.

The launch of the festival coincides with the winter school holiday to attract children and their families as part of a package of fun games and cultural competitions, educational workshops and crafts, in addition to displaying the products of productive families.

The festival, which was inaugurated by Sheikh Jamal Al Qasimi, Deputy Chief of the Ruler's Office in Hamriyah, includes many pillars, among which are a pillar to go towards space, a tolerance pillar, popular games, educational programs and artistic workshops, youth projects, productive families, entertainment games, and a theater corner And horses, as the theater hosts many programs, games and competitions for its visitors, children and adults, throughout the festival days.

For her part, the director of the Social Services Department in Hamriyah, Maryam Majed Al Shamsi, confirmed that the festival is one of the department’s programs that seeks to contribute to promoting the inclusion and involvement of children, through these societal activities, as the festival embraces various segments of society, noting that the activities are launched simultaneously. With the school holiday, to enhance the societal aspect of the young and to invest their spare time in what is beneficial, as the event engages children in providing volunteer programs that instill a love of volunteering for them.

Al Shamsi explained that the festival includes many pavilions, staff and youth projects, in addition to the participation of 25 parties to support the festival, which includes a variety of products from handicrafts to accessories, perfumes, incense, folk food and others. It also celebrates an entertainment program that includes competitions, games, manual workshops, raffles and gifts, in addition to the cartoon characters attracting "Salem and Salama" to add an atmosphere of joy.

Al Shamsi has invited community members to visit the festival, which is an ideal opportunity to enjoy performances and events targeting children and their parents, such as art education, drawing skills and lectures on protecting children from any abuse they may be exposed to.
