Star Wars: Skywalker. Sunrise ”(Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker)
The third trilogy about events in a distant galaxy ends with a film by JJ Abrams, who worked on the seventh part of the so-called Skywalker saga, as well as Star Trek and Mission Impossible 3 blockbusters.
In the new film, Disney and Lucasfilm promised to reveal all the secrets of previous films, including the question of the origin of the protagonist of the last three parts of Ray (Daisy Ridley). In anticipation of the premiere, fans of the franchise tried to unravel the hints from the trailers.
Viewers were shown the main character with a red lightsaber, which perhaps symbolizes her transition to the dark side. And the phrase “No one leaves without a trace” accompanied by an ominous laugh at the end of the first teaser prompted fans to think about returning the antagonist of the first six parts of the saga - Palpatine (Darth Sidious).
Also in the film will appear Leia Organa-Solo - the heroine of the actress Carrie Fisher who died at the end of 2016. The spectators owe her return to the materials shot during the work on The Awakening of Power.
The Les Miserables (Les Misérables)
The French documentary documentary Ludge Lee in 2017 shot the short film Les Miserables, and in 2019, based on it, released the eponymous full meter. The film won the judges of the Cannes Film Festival, received a jury prize, and then beat the leaders of the current award season and fell into the race for the Oscars.
Notorious as a place of arbitrariness and atrocities, the Parisian Monfermay is patrolled by a three-man police squad - Stefan, a rookie, joins his companions Chris and Guad, who moved from the province after his ex-wife and son. On the very first day of work in the new squad, law enforcement officers exceed their official duties and, through their own fault, become hostages of a very difficult situation.
“The sky is measured in miles”
This tape is dedicated to the biography of the Soviet aircraft designer Mikhail Mil, the designer of the famous Mi helicopters.
The film was shot in the most diverse locations, including sites in Novocherkassk and Rostov, where in different years there lived an aircraft designer, airfields and even secret objects. The spirit of the era was restored using digital copies of helicopters - museum exhibits, as well as color grading: to visually show the events of different years, frames were added shades characteristic of newsreel materials of a given period.
The role of Mikhail Mil was performed by three actors, including Yevgeny Stychkin.
“Real Love in New York” (The Kindness of Strangers)
At the time of the action (Christmas Eve) and the presence of several main characters, the similarity of this film with Richard Curtis’s tape “Real Love”, perhaps, ends. And the name “Real Love in New York” is nothing but the marketing move of Russian distributors (the original name of the picture sounds like The Kindness of Strangers, that is, “Kindness of Strangers”).
The tape to Lone Scherfig (“Italian for Beginners”, “Education of Feelings”) opened the 69th Berlin Film Festival this year. At the center of the story is the story of Clara (Zoe Kazan), who escaped with her two children from her tyrant husband; Alice (Andrea Riseborough), accustomed to returning to an empty house after a shift in a hospital; Jeff (Caleb Landry Jones), who is fired from any job, and only after leaving prison Mark (Tahir Rahim).
The paths of the heroes intersect in the Winter Palace restaurant of Russian cuisine, so we are faced with not almanacs, but four stories that merge into one. The meaning of the tape can be understood from the original name: the picture preaches kindness towards neighbors - not only to family, friends and loved ones, but also to casual passers-by.
Healing (Harmony)
Harmony's homeless orphan is endowed with the gift of taking away other people's pain and fear. However, the suffering of other people does not disappear, but proceed to it. Moreover, the heroine may die if she absorbs too many negative emotions.
Two people meet on her way. Jimmy is full of fear, and his very presence threatens Harmony's life. But Mason is the only one with whom she can communicate without pain. Together they will resist negative energy.
Healing is the first film from the planned series, The Five Frequencies Saga. Each story is dedicated to a teenager endowed with superpowers to fight world evil.
For the lead singer Jessica Falkholt, “Healing” became the first and last full-length film: even before the premiere, the actress died in a car accident.
“Let's drink for love” (Der Vorname)
The Russian-language title of this film, like the aforementioned “Real Love”, can lead the audience astray - the German picture has nothing to do with the musical hit of the 1990s.
At dinner in the house of Stefan and Elizabeth, a small company gathers: brother Elizabeth Thomas and his wife and their mutual friend Rene join the owners. The Thomas family is expected to replenish soon - an event, undoubtedly, joyful. However, the name of the firstborn causes fierce debate. The fact is that parents plan to name the baby Adolf. Those around them are trying their best to convince them.
This film, like its French predecessor, is based on the play of the same name by modern French playwrights Mathieu Delaporte and Alexandre de La Patelier. In Russia, the play was staged by the troupe of the Atelier Theater.
