Shinkansen killing case Indefinite prison sentence Yokohama District Court Odawara Branch December 18 14:34

In June last year, the Odawara branch of the Yokohama District Court was indebted to the 23-year-old defendant who was accused of murder for murdering three passenger men and women with cutlery in the Tokaido Shinkansen train running in Kanagawa Prefecture. I was sentenced to imprisonment.

Unaddressed Defendant Ichiro Kojima (23), who was unemployed in June, cut off three passengers, male and female, on the Tokaido Shinkansen train that was running in Kanagawa Prefecture. (38 at the time) was murdered and accused of murder and attempted murder for injuring two women.

The prosecution pointed out that it was a brutal and serious indiscriminate killing case, and that there was no reflection in the trial, and that he was imprisoned for life imprisonment considering the absence of a criminal record.

The defendant's lawyer, on the other hand, argued that "it can be expected to reflect while serving for a long time, and it is not appropriate to impose an excessively heavy sentence".

The sentence began at 2:30 pm at the Odawara branch of the Yokohama District Court, and Yuki Sawaki handed the defendant to life imprisonment as requested.
