McDonald's chain of restaurants said on Twitter that it closed all its restaurants in Peru for two days in mourning of the death of two of its employees who were electrocuted.

According to the Peruvian daily La Repubblica, two workers under the age of twenty were stunned while cleaning a McDonald's kitchen in the Pueblo Libera area of ​​the capital, Lima.

“In response to the heavy loss of life of two of our colleagues, Carlos Gabriel Edgardo Campos Zapata and Alexandra Antonella Boras Inga, we would like to announce that we are in mourning for two days from this morning, during which all our restaurants nationwide will be closed,” the series said on Twitter.

The company added that it cooperates fully with the authorities who are investigating their deaths and providing support to their families, noting that all of its workers will receive their wages for the two days despite the closure, according to Reuters.
