Around 6:10 pm on the 18th, a 17-year-old male high school student living in the city crossing the road on a bicycle was hit by a truck at the intersection of Kimagase in Noda City.
The high school student was taken to the hospital, but died about four and a half hours after hitting his head.
High school students seemed to have crossed the pedestrian crossing, and the police arrested a self-proclaimed office worker, Hironobu Ito (46), who was driving the truck, on the spot of suspicion of accidental driving injury.
It means that he told the police that he did not think that the bicycle would pop out.
There are no traffic lights at the intersection of prefectural and city roads, and the police are investigating the cause of the accident by switching the suspect to lethal driving.
