A 21-year-old man died in New York after being crushed by a car whose engine was accidentally powered by a remote control, according to the website "Mirror".

He was standing between two cars that were parked, as the car rolled toward him, after its owner pressed the remote control button.

Passersby tried to push the two vehicles apart, but his legs were crushed between the cars.

According to the New York Police Department, the young man was hospitalized with serious injuries to his torso and legs, and died of his wounds.

For her part, a spokeswoman from "Toyota" said that the Lexus model worked on a remote control, a feature that this model of Lexus cars does not support, which indicates that the owner made an adjustment to his car system.
