A man convicted of burning his fiancee has been executed by electric chair inside the River Bend prison in Nashville.

Lee Hall, 54, was executed today in prison after he chose to be executed by electrocution, rather than lethal injection as permitted by local law.

A US court sentenced Lee Hall to death in 1992 for the murder of Tracy Cruiser in April 1991, who was then 22 years old.

According to court documents, Lee Hall poured gasoline on Cruiser and set fire to her car, following a dispute between them in front of her grandmother's house.
