The Okayama Police Headquarters started an attempt to recruit dangerous driving videos on the Internet last month to prevent malicious driving, and the police criminalized drivers for interrupting driving based on the provided videos. This is the first clearance for this initiative.

On the 21st of last month, the Okayama Police Headquarters began operating a dedicated site called “Okayama Aori 110th Defeat Box” that solicits dangerous driving information and videos.

According to the police, on the 26th of last month, five days after the start of operation, a video of a drive recorder was shot that showed a dump truck suddenly interrupting the blinker without flashing the blinker on the national road in Kurashiki City.

As a result of investigations based on this video, the police arrested a male driver in their 40s for violating the Road Traffic Law this month.

This is the first clearing based on videos and information submitted to this site.

According to the police, there were 31 cases of dangerous driving information received through this site during the two weeks from the start of operation to the third day.

A person in charge at the Okayama Prefectural Police Headquarters said, “If you witness a dangerous driving or take a picture of it, I would like you to send me a video and information.”
