During Thursday evening, a large tribute concert will be arranged to the departed artist Avicii at the Friends arena in Stockholm. On stage, DJs like David Guetta, Kygo and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike will be featured, but even artists who have participated in Avicii's biggest songs will perform these together with a large live band.

One of these is American bluegrass musician Dan Tyminski, whose voice is heard on one of Avicii's biggest hits - Hey brother.

- The world lost a musical genius. Everyone I know works with music in one way or another, but I've never met anyone like him, says Dan Tyminki about Avicii.

Man of constant sorrow

The song was released in 2013 on Avicii's debut album True, and climbed high on the charts. Hey brother was written by Avicii and performed by Dan Tyminski. The song is about a young boy who loses his dad in the Vietnam War.

Dan Tyminski made a name for himself when he recorded the song Man of constant sorrow for the movie Oh brother, where art thou?, In which the protagonist George Clooney appears mima to Tyminski's voice.

Aloe Blacc and Rita Ora perform

As both solo artist and member of the band Alison Krauss and union station, Dan Tyminski has brought home 14 American Grammys. Despite this, he does not think he would be the artist he is today without Tim Berling's influence and collaboration with Hey brother.

- It helped me write songs that I couldn't have written otherwise, without having to confront that uncomfortable feeling.

In April 2018, artist Tim Berling, also known as Avicii, passed away. He chose to end his own life and after his death, his family started the Tim Bergling foundation, a foundation to pay attention to mental illness and suicide prevention. The concert is organized by the foundation, and on stage there are names like Aloe Blacc, Rita Ora, Adam Lambert and Sandro Cavazza.
