Egyptian artist Mohamed Khairy died yesterday evening at the age of 77 after his health deteriorated after a struggle with the disease in a Cairo hospital.

His son, Sharif Khairi, announced the death on his official page on the social networking site "Facebook".

The late artist suffered from respiratory complications and heart problems.

Khairy was born in Cairo on April 10, 1942, where he began working in theater and cinema, worked in small roles and then joined the Higher Institute of Cinema and graduated in 1970.

He stayed away from acting during his enlistment, and then won a single absolute starring in his career, in front of the star Magda in the film "Age for a moment", but the experience did not repeat again, and then continued to play again roles.

During his career, he has made several national films such as "The Wall of Tournaments", "Dignity Day" and others such as "Lost", "Legs in the Mud" and "Fine Thread".

Among the plays presented by Mohammed Khairy are "Al Bakashin", "Beginning and End", "The Bee and the Hornet", "Antonio and Cleopatra".

It is noteworthy that the last work of the late artist was his participation in the series "Bat" in 2012.
