A cinematography of Kerstin Ekman's award-winning crime novel Events at the Water has been on the tap several times - but for various reasons has not come off.
Now, in an interview with Moviezine, actress Alba August states that her mother Pernilla August will direct a TV series based on the book, and that it will happen in 2020.
The project "is in its infancy"- Mom will direct a new series based on Kerstin Ekman's Events at the Water, which I know will be epic, she tells the film site.
When TT reaches Pernilla August for a comment, she exclaims:
- She couldn't tell you at all!
Pernilla August reveals that the project "is in its infancy", but then says she does not want to comment further.
In the past, director Anthony Minghella has made an attempt to film the novel without success. In 2013, Dagens Nyheter wrote that Klas Östergren worked on a TV series script based on the book, where the recording was expected to start in 2014.
