Health and Solidarities Minister Agnès Buzyn said Tuesday, after consulting the various actors, that the health services were "prepared" for the strike of 5 November. This, despite a risk of strikes in hospitals and a paralysis of transport.

Two days before the November 5 strike against the pension reform, the health minister, Agnès Buzyn, was optimistic about the conditions of reception of the patients. "I want to reassure the population that, of course, we have prepared ourselves collectively," she said after a meeting with the Regional Health Agencies (RHAs), health agencies , as well as the central administrations. The objective is to "verify that all patients who are waiting for urgent care are well cared for".

"Risks of potential violence in demonstrations"

The Health Minister also assured that "there will also be strikers in hospitals" without knowing "at this stage the level of mobilization. Agnès Buzyn also mentioned the possibility of making "provisions to facilitate access to these facilities for patients and carers if ever the strike was to last longer". For example, hotel rooms have been requisitioned for staff in some Ile-de-France hospitals.

The meeting also allowed the emergency services to be prepared for the reception of any wounded in the face of "the risks of potential violence in the demonstrations" as explained by the minister. The emergencies have been on strike for eight months and the CGT, FO, SUD and the collective Inter-Emergency have relayed the call to strike interprofessional Thursday, despite the government announcements.
