The new novel by Frédéric Beigbeder is expected at the start of the literary season in January. The author signs his big comeback with a book that has no title! Well, not really. On the cover is a smiling emoji, hilarious even. The title is ambiguous but the hero of the book well known. It is Octave Parango, the literary alter ego of Frédéric Beigbeder: cynical, depressive, and more or less addict.
After fashion and advertising, Beigbeder explores the world of entertainment
Readers have met him in the writer's best-known novel, 99 francs , published in 2000. He was then advertising, as Beigbeder was. No resemblance is fortuitous. We find Octave in 2007 in Au secours pardon where he became a model-finder for a cosmetics brand. He then goes to Russia in search of perfect beauty.
And here is Octave again, in this new novel. This time, Frédéric Beigbeder, or rather Octave Parango, provides a humorous chronicle at 8:55 am in a morning radio public service. After advertising and fashion, Beigbeder explores the world of entertainment. The publisher indicates that this time, the writer attacks what he calls "the dictatorship of laughter". The release is scheduled for January 2nd.
