Singer Goo Hara , who died on Sunday in what appears to be a new and tragic case of suicide in the K-Pop industry, left a "pessimistic" note, South Korean police said Monday.

The note was on a table in Goo's home, although for the moment no more details of the content have been revealed nor has it been established if the artist wrote the note as a farewell, said a spokesman for the National Police Agency (NPA) ) during a press conference convened today at the agency's headquarters in Seoul.

"[The note] was very short, which apparently shows that Goo felt very pessimistic about his life, " the spokesman said, in statements collected by the Korea Herald newspaper.

The police have already ruled out that Goo was the victim of a murder and it has not yet been decided whether an autopsy will be performed on the body, a decision to be discussed by the relatives of the singer and actress and representatives of the prosecution.

It is known that Goo died on the same Sunday, as a closed-circuit camera caught her returning to her home in the Gangnam district shortly after noon, about six hours before she was found lifeless.

In addition to a private wake, from Monday a memorial will be held for three days in the Catholic hospital of Santa Maria, located in the Seocho district of the South Korean capital.

Goo had his career suspended since last year his ex-partner, hairdresser Choi Jong-bum, threatened to post intimate videos after his breakup.

Choi never made the videos of "revenge porn" public , but he was still sentenced in August to a suspended sentence of one and a half years in prison for his threat.

Last May, the singer was admitted to a South Korean hospital after she was found unconscious in her home, apparently because of a suicide attempt.

Goo began his career by joining the Kara group in 2008, the year in which women's training shot up on the charts.

The musical ensemble, famous for songs like "Wanna", "Mister" or "Jumping", also garnered a great following in neighboring Japan, although it ended up dissolving in 2016.

By then Goo had already debuted a year earlier as a soloist.
