“Unlaced Disco” and “Blue Envy”: How did the stage of fights on the show “Voice” begin?

On November 22, a new stage of the eighth season of the vocal show “Voice” began - “fights” (or, as the presenter Dmitry Nagiyev suggested, what can be considered as “battles of keys” and “clash of tones”).

The stage was opened by Maxim Larichev, according to the mentor Polina Gagarina, similar in tone to Joe Cocker, and Ekaterina Steblin. By the way, Larichev from the time of “blind auditions” managed to lose 12 kilograms. The participants demonstrated their capabilities on the example of the winding "Leningrad Rock and Roll".

“He performed this song once, and I performed two thousand and a half,” Valery Syutkin commented on the performance of Larichev, hinting that the composition had previously been included in the repertoire of the Bravo group. “In general, I should have made that number, but I didn’t have enough intelligence and talent,” Sergei Shnurov remarked self-critically.

Polina Gagarina stated that the choreography is based on the dance of Uma Thurman and John Travolta from the movie Pulp Fiction. In the next stage, the mentor sent Ekaterina Steblina.

Voices of Tatyana Gayvoronskaya and Karin Soiref their coach Valery Syutkin decided to compare on the example of the song Proud Mary. Sergei Shnurov again complained that the number was prepared by the participants of a foreign team, and not his own (and admitted that he envies, not white, but some kind of "blue" envy). On this occasion, Dmitry Nagiyev suggested the mentor to record a new song, "The Color of Envy Blue."

“Valery just breaks all the patterns!” - Polina Gagarina admired, noting also the powerful energy of the participants. Syutkin decided to part with Karin Soiref.

From the team of Konstantin Meladze, the first duelists were Roman Voloznev and Valery Mironov. Both at the “blind auditions” all the members of the jury invited to their teams. Meladze immediately set the wards high bar - to bring the audience to tears.

As in the first stage, Voloznev accompanied himself (and the rival) on the piano. Their performance made a particularly vivid impression on Polina Gagarina: she compared the vocal and instrumental performance of Roman Voloznev with molasses and balm, and identified Mironova’s voice with velvet.

Valery Syutkin suggested that playing the piano, Voloznev "filled the lack of male testosterone." However, Meladze explained that the contestant went on stage sick, and his party was remade practically on the go. Nevertheless, according to the mentor, Valery Mironov was a more promising participant.

Wards of Sergei Shnurov Ragda Khaniev and Philip Lebedev performed with the disco-rock potpourri Smells Like Teen Spirit / In The Heat of a Disco Night. “A bright discoded disco,” Valery Syutkin described this decision.

The host asked Konstantin Meladze if the performance was too loud. “A person after a normal concert should go a little deaf,” the musician replied.

As for Sergei Shnurov, he decided to continue creative cooperation with Ragda Khanieva.

With Olga Urazgalieva and Lilia Veltman, Polina Gagarina organized a “real girl battle”. The girls measured their ranges, performing a funky hit of the 80s Ain't Nobody. “Bright in all respects, brilliant - I mean the costumes,” Meladze noted, but he also rated the girls at the level of an already held group. Valery Syutkin said that the voices of the singers are similar to the point that they are almost indistinguishable by ear. Veltman continued to participate in the project.

Duet Iva Nabiev and Konstantin Strukov Shnurov picked up by temperament. In costumes a la Denis Simachev, they performed Shura’s song “Don’t Believe in Tears”. “Anarchist mood and a free detachment galloped on the enemy,” Syutkin described his impressions. Shnurov explained that he and his contestants came up with a new genre.

Konstantin Strukov had to leave the show after his wife, who also participated in the selection, but did not go through “blind auditions”.

Vrezh Kirakosyan and Natalya Sidortsova presented their interpretation of the composition “Shallow” from the soundtrack to the film “A Star Was Born”. Polina Gagarina added a fly in the ointment, noting that the performance turned out to be “dirty”, but, despite this, emotional. Valery Meladze emphasized that he considered the participants in the duet to be equal in vocal capabilities. For further participation in the show, he chose Sidortsova.

Elimdar Seydosmanov and Yuri Shurkhovetsky performed with the song Adele Rolling in the Deep, which at one time took three Grammys and became MTV's Song of the Year. According to the performance results, Sergei Shnurov was most worried about the question of why the singers need umbrellas.

The mentor of the duet Syutkin made a choice in favor of Elimdar Seydosmanov, explaining that he has great potential for development.

Svetlana Mamresheva and Polina Tyrina Konstantin Meladze involved in a pageant for the song "Sad Dance". Shnurov noted that it should be more difficult for his colleague to choose from two women than to take the man out of the game again. However, without much thought, the mentor left Svetlana Mamresheva in the project.

Nurzhigit Subankulov and Vladimir Konovalov from Syutkin’s team got the composition “First Snow” with swing elements, known in the performance of the “Code of Ethics” group. In addition to the vocal part, Konovalov also portrayed a saxophone. However, the mentor preferred Subankulov.

Andrew Grunge and Emily Cooper, under the direction of Pauline Gagarina, prepared the song Rockabye. Polina Gagarina granted the Canadian singer the right to participate in the next stage, while hinting that her decision was connected with a certain promise to Sergei Shnurov, but has not yet revealed the details.

Dmitry Klinaev and Irina Chuvakova from the Shnurov team completed the first day of fights with the song of the Rondo group “Also a part of the universe.” Their performance was to the taste of all the mentors. “It was sincere. That touched me. I believed you and almost burst into tears, ”Konstantin Meladze expressed his admiration. And Shnurov himself was confused under pressure from fans who chanted the names of both performers. At the knockout stage, his team will be played by Irina Chuvakova.
