Thousands of British Airways passengers were stranded this morning after a computer system failure caused the aircraft to fail to take off, according to Britain's Daily Mail.

Transatlantic flights from the United States, Canada and Mexico were the hardest hit, with flights to Heathrow showing all inbound flights delayed for several hours.

British Airways said a small number of flights were affected by the system failure.

Passengers from airports in Mexico and Chicago said they did not have enough information about the situation, as they brushed the ground without knowing for how long.

Flights from locations around the world, including New York, Los Angeles and Beijing, were also affected.

At least one flight from Gatwick to Orlando was canceled.
