English singer Lily Allen has confided in the microphone of Europe 1, while her autobiography, "Me, exactly", released last year in England, has just been translated in France. A book in which she discusses all subjects: her career of course, but also politics, sex or her addictions.

INTERVIEW

Fifteen years of career, four albums, hundreds of concerts and several awards. At 34, Lily Allen has already known a lot. What, even, to release an autobiography, released in the United Kingdom in September 2018. The book, titled Me, exactly , has just been translated into French while he has enjoyed great success across the Channel. A book whose interpreter Fuck you is proud, she who wanted to deliver his truth to the public. "So many things in my life have been commented," she lamented in Music! on Europe 1, at the microphone of Émilie Mazoyer. This life, she was reported in large part in the tabloids, portraying the singer not always flattering. "Often, a part of my life came out in the newspapers with a very negative side," she notes.

That's also why Lily Allen decided to take the pen and write Me, exactly . "When more serious or important things happened to me, we did not talk about them," says the artist. She cites the harassment of which she was the victim by a man who followed her for seven years. One night, he broke into his house, "presumably to kill me," before finally being arrested and sentenced. A news item that has never been mentioned by newspapers, regrets Lily Allen.

Heard on europe1:

In the studio, people smoke grass and drink to be a little more creative

In this autobiography, we also discover more unknown facets of the artist. She freely discusses her sexuality and the difficulties she has experienced before being sexually fulfilled. She also tells her addictions, drugs or alcohol.

"Music is an industry that depends a lot on alcohol," says Lily Allen. "In the studio, people smoke grass and drink to be a little more creative," she describes. "In the world of music, there is always alcohol within our reach." The singer, she is sober "for a little while now".

Heard on europe1:

I do not know if I need anyone to understand me

With this book, Lily Allen does not necessarily want to convince anyone. "I do not know if I need anyone to understand me," she says in Musique! . "I just hope that talking about my experiences and society will help other people," says the star. With Me, exactly , Lily Allen has in any case been able to carry out her deep desire: "to give my version of my story".
