In conjunction with International Children's Day, the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature unveiled yesterday its program of sessions and workshops dedicated to children, which help them understand their world and establish their place in it.

This year, the festival hosts a host of writers discussing a wide range of topics, from saving the planet to dealing with anxiety and stress.

Instilling the love of reading among generations is at the forefront of the Emirates Airline Festival of Literature, which will be held from 4-9 February next, reading to enjoy the myriad benefits, contribute to improve the lives of children and improve them and their feelings, and deepen their awareness of themselves and their surroundings.

"Reading is not just about acquiring basic language skills, despite the importance of this aspect," said Isabelle Abulhoul, CEO of the Emirates Literature Foundation. Writers at the Emirates Airline Festival 2020 face the challenges of today's children. Maria Dadoush, an award-winning writer, encourages children to accept differences.

Writer Hussein Al Mutawa embodies the story of young Haddam, who willfully and confidently overcome all challenges to reach his goal, and his story encourages children to discover their abilities and aspects of excellence in their personalities.

During the festival, writer Rania Zghayer presents her story “Fikra”, which encourages innovation and creativity among young readers.
