The plot world is threatened by the fact that fewer and fewer children believe in the site's existence. In the village of the North Pole, the grandfather (Per Andersson), the plot mother (Pernilla Wahlgren) and the plot children (Elis Nyström and Elisabeth Drejenstam Papadogeorgou) are faced with trying to solve the situation.

- We are entering a stage where the lantern of light, that which causes the world of flames to go around, has begun to fade. And that the light fades because no one believes in the plot anymore, says comedian Per Andersson.

Many familiar faces

It is a prominent crowd of actors in this year's edition of the classic television tradition: Suzanne Reuter, Leif Andrée and also Christina Schollin. For Pernilla Wahlgren, who has already done several Christmas shows, released a Christmas album and during the 80s was the program manager for a Christmas morning show is to be included in a Christmas calendar as "the cream of the mash", she describes.

- Since I have done so much that relates to Christmas, and myself was born on Christmas Eve, it feels super fun to be able to join, says Pernilla Wahlgren.

"A sitcom about the Christmas family"

Fredde Granberg and Thomas Claesson are responsible for directing and scripting. A duo who has already worked with each other before, albeit in SVT's children's series Familjen Rysberg. A series that, like the Christmas calendar, takes place in a kind of heightened fantasy world.

- It is very fun to mix realistic things or problems that all families are tamped with even though you put it in a fantasy world. We think it will be much more fun then, ”says Thomas Claesson.

- We felt it would be fun to do a sitcom about the Christmas family. So a sitcom that is about the plot, plot memes and the children, and about how they are doing at the North Pole, says Fredde Granberg.
