Jan Guillou's romance series The Great Century becomes a television series. According to Variety, the Stockholm-based production company Dramacorp-Pampas has bought the rights to the books and the script is to be written by Norwegian Norwegian Petter Skavlan.

- This is the company's next big thing. Potentially, this could be the most spectacular television series ever made in Scandinavia, says the company's CEO Jens Alexhan to Variety.

The great century consists of nine books, all of which are about the 20th century. The first book in the series is "The Bridge Builders" and revolves around three brothers from Norway.

Dramacorp-Pampas has recently adapted Guillous's character Carl Hamilton to a television series with the end of the year. When the new series may be broadcast is unknown.
