Shooting live ammunition at the crowd, Iraqi security forces shot dead six demonstrators in Baghdad on Thursday (November 7th) and four anti-government rallies in Basra in the south, according to police and medical sources. In the capital, the clashes occurred near the Chouhada bridge, blocked since Tuesday by the protesters.

Dozens of protesters also blocked the entrance to the port of Oumm Kasr in the south, a few hours after its reopening, preventing the transport by road of food landed there, said a member of the port authorities .

More than 260 dead, 8,000 injured

Police also fired live ammunition to disperse protesters gathered around a local administration building, police sources said.
