"Capybara hot water bath" dedicated to the zoo Akita November 8, 18:27

The 8th day is one of 24 seasons. On the calendar, it is the day when winter begins. At the zoo in Akita City, the capybara that inhabit the temperate areas of South America is warming up in hot water.

At the Omoriyama Zoo in Akita City, Akigin Omorin no Mori, a capybara hot water bath, an annual bath, was set up in the capybara breeding space last month.

Cold is not good for Capybara inhabiting warm South America.

The four capybaras went into a “bath” on the 8th and took 40 degrees of hot water on their heads, dive and swim to get warm.

The 3-year-old boy who visited said “Capybara looked good”.

Mr. Atsuko Watanabe, who is in charge of breeding, said, “It is a capybara that seems to be peaceful in hot water, but I want you to pay attention to sharp teeth etc.”

“Capybara no Yukko” is scheduled to be held from 10 am to 11:30 am every day until mid-May next year, except during winter holidays.
