Tokyo Disneyland and Sea Introduced X-ray inspection machine to strengthen security

Before the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics next year, Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea introduced inspections using X-rays and metal detectors for the first time at some entrances to strengthen security.

At Tokyo Disneyland and DisneySea in Urayasu City, Chiba Prefecture, staff have been checking the entrance baggage to see if there are any dangerous goods in the past.

The management company, Oriental Land, introduced inspection equipment at some entrances for the first time because it is expected that the number of visitors from overseas will increase, etc., ahead of the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics next year.

It is forbidden to bring in from outside, such as blades, gunpowder, drones, cans and bottles, etc. After passing the baggage through the X-ray inspection machine, visitors can pass through the metal detection gate. You can enter.

Oriental Land wants to introduce these inspection devices one after another.

A 24-year-old woman who visited with a friend said, “I feel a little strange, but I can't help it for safety.”

Naoki Kajioka, Manager of the Oriental Land Security Group, said, “I want to work on creating a safer theme park than ever before by considering the inspection procedure and thinking about a method that will not take much time.”
