Invited from Europe 1, the director of programs and acquisitions of the TF1 group spoke about the program "Mask Singer", broadcast for the first time Friday night. Abroad, the program is already a hit in all countries where it is broadcast.

INTERVIEW

TF1 plays big. Friday, the first channel will offer the first issue of Mask Singer . The principle ? Twelve personalities sing masked, under costumes. Using clues distilled in magnetos, four investigators (Kev Adams, Anggun, Alessandra Sublet and Jarry) try to guess who are hiding behind these costumes. A format that arrives in France for the first time, while it has been a success wherever it went.

"We saw the show when she arrived in the United States," says Fabrice Bailly, director of programs and acquisitions of the TF1 group, in Culture Media . Fox had acquired this format, already well known in Southeast Asia. "It's an addictive program, when we saw the show, it's quite hypnotic," promises the TV man.

"The personalities hide it from their surroundings"

The secret is therefore appropriate for the program. Director, technician, audience: nobody knows who comes on stage to sing in costume. "The personalities hide it from their surroundings", even stresses Fabrice Bailly. "It is also an engine that pushes them to participate in the format, to surprise their families," says the director of programs of TF1.

Such a program obviously has a cost. "We are in the high range entertainment of TF1", does not hide Fabrice Bailly. As for the hearings, the first channel hopes to gather 4.5 million people. "We'll be happy already," he says.
