French singer and actress Marie Laforêt passed away on Saturday, Nov. 2 in Genolier, Switzerland, at the age of 80, her family told AFP. Majestic beauty, she shot with the greatest directors. The announcement came by her daughter, director Lisa Azuelos, through her press attaché, Dominique Segall. The causes of his death have not been specified.

Nicknamed " the girl with golden eyes " (they were actually yellow-green), she played in 35 films, including directors such as Georges Lautner, Henri Verneuil or Pierre Granier-Deferre, Michel Deville, Jean-Pierre Mocky, and sold more than 35 million albums, throughout a very little straight existence.

Maïténa Doumenach, her real name, was born on October 5, 1939 in Soulac-sur-Mer (Gironde), daughter of an industrialist. Marie Laforêt again made the headlines in 2002, but for other reasons than artistic: she is linked by one of her spouses to the family of Didier Schuller, this former director of the office HLM Hauts-de-Seine and convicted in a case of hidden financing. In her 80s, she married five times, had three children with Judas Azuelos, a businessman of Moroccan Jewish descent, and then with Alain Kahn-Sriber, a businessman and art collector. His daughter, Lisa Azuelos, director of the movie LOL , with Sophie Marceau, did not hide his difficult relationship with his mother. The latter, for her part, admitted that she had sometimes been too absent with her children.
