Mariam Al Qasimi and Najd Najib talk about children 'diversity'

«Culture Without Borders» organized an interactive session within the activities of the Sharjah International Book Fair, hosted by Sheikha Mariam Saqr Al Qasimi, a specialist in children's literature, the winner of the Sharjah Children's Book Award 2018, and the UAE girl Mozna Najib, the champion of the Arab Reading Challenge 2019, and attended the session More than fifty students from the first stages of school.

The session, which discussed the story of diversity, written by Sheikha Mariam Saqr Al Qasimi, aimed to develop the spirit of reading among students and enhance their relationship with the book, where the story presented a number of lessons and lessons on the importance of cooperation, tolerance, acceptance of the other opinion, and teamwork within the framework of one team, This motivates children to interact with their events and personalities.

Sheikha Mariam Al Qasimi said: “Promoting the culture of children and strengthening their relationship with the book, the story and the readable story requires continuous awareness efforts involving everyone, taking care not to force children to read, but to find ways and means that lead them to search for them automatically, and in a desire I believe that cultural events such as the Sharjah International Book Fair are one of the best solutions to instill the love of the book for the young, because of the entertainment and educational activities and interactive reading sessions ». For her part, the child Mezna Najib expressed her happiness to participate in the session, because of its impact in spreading culture, and love of reading among her peers of children, where she invited them to consider reading a basic daily need, such as food and water. Mariam Al Hammadi, Director of the Culture Without Borders Initiative, said: “Through our initiatives or participation in cultural events organized to enhance children's skills, we seek to reach out to children and provide them with a book to contribute to their upbringing on a culture of reading and knowledge.”
