November 3 marks 70 years of People's Artist of Russia Alexander Gradsky. He stood at the origins of Russian rock and is among those who popularized and brought this direction out of the underground. In his youth, Gradsky performed in the amateur rock group Skomorokh, founded by him, and was engaged in solo work. Many compositions - for example, “How Young We Were”, “Once Upon a Time I Lived” and “We Did Not Expect Changes” - were remembered by the listener precisely in his performance. Gradsky became the author of music for many films, including Andrei Konchalovsky's “Romance of Lovers”; he also composed the rock operas Stadium and Master and Margarita. And to this day, the artist continues to do what he loves. In 2012, he first tried himself as a mentor in the vocal television show "Voice", where he subsequently released four winners, and in 2015 opened his own theater.
