BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) reported 120 wounded protesters in the southern Iraqi city of Basra on Saturday after clashes with security forces blocked demonstrators leading to the port of Umm Qasr.

It said in a statement that it followed through its observation teams the events that took place in the province of Basra, which led to clashes between security forces and demonstrators at the port of Umm Qasr and the fall (120) injured lying in Umm Qasr hospital because of the use of tear gas by security forces, and directly towards Protesters are firing live bullets to disperse them.

Thousands of protesters blocked all roads to Iraq's main Gulf port of Umm Qasr on Saturday after security forces fired live ammunition and tear gas at them, security sources said.

It said the port operations had been completely shut since Wednesday after protesters closed its entrance for the first time on Tuesday
