Some have called it the "Netflix killer", and on Friday it is launched globally. Apple's new streaming service Apple TV + is the latest in a line of streaming services that grabs viewers' attention.

The service will not contain older rights, but you will invest heavily in a whole new content. Most talked about is probably the television series The morning show, with Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carell in the roles, and the post apocalyptic series See with Jason Momoa, among others.

Hard competition

But how many players are there for and how does this affect the TV series market?

- Apple is entering an already tight market, and it will be even tighter, says journalist and streaming expert Daniel Åberg, to SVT's Cultural News.

According to Daniel Åberg, the competition for the viewers is great, and the most difficult is for those players whose economic activities stand and fall that are entirely dependent on their streaming services. There, Apple has a head start, says Daniel Åberg.

"Will be worse for consumers"

- Apple has something else to fall back on. Services are becoming increasingly important to them, but it is still hardware that is the foundation. They do not have to make money on this in the same way that others have to do. I think we will see some players who will have to fight in the headwind.

- The next three or four years will be worse for us consumers. We must have several different subscriptions if we want to have access to all the TV series that are available.
