“Terminator: Dark Fate” (Terminator: Dark Fate)

35 years after the premiere of the original film “Terminator”, a sixth of the franchise is released. Sarah Connor and the T-800 performed by Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger are back in business - like James Cameron, who, although he lost the director's chair to Tim Miller (Deadpool), wrote the script and controlled the production as a producer.

Opponents from the side of robots in the new tape became even more indestructible and dangerous, and the existence of mankind by tradition hangs in the balance. However, advanced heroes also confront the threat: a hybrid of man and machine comes to the rescue of Sarah from the future, a girl named Grace (Mackenzie Davis).

The plot of the film is concentrated around female characters: the emphasis is on the line of Sarah Connor (from the lips of Linda Hamilton I even hear the classic I'll be back), and the terminators are not hunting for John, but for a certain Dani Ramos (Natalia Reyes). However, viewers can be prepared for an abundance of action and, as critics say, an emotionally charged ending.

The Addams Family

Another variation on the life of the odious family Addams was originally supposed to be shot by the no less odious Tim Burton. It was assumed that a new film adaptation of the story of the characters of Charles Addams will appear in the format of puppet animation. However, in 2013, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer acquired the rights to cinema adaptation of the project, and its management appointed Konrad Vernon and Greg Tiernan to the post of directors of the creators of “Full Cracker”.

The cartoon of Vernon and Tiernan is not a reference to previous paintings and is inspired by the original illustrations of Addams. In the story, the newlyweds Gomez and Mortisha Addams, fleeing persecution by ordinary people, settle in an abandoned mental hospital hidden in the fog in the middle of the forests of New Jersey. However, life in solitude does not last long: at the foot of the hill, designer and TV presenter Margo Needler is building a city. Needler drained the swamps, from which the Addams mansion was sheltering for a long time, and now the gloomy house corns her eyes. The TV presenter wants to repair it at all costs.

For the voice acting of the characters, a star caste was assembled: Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, Chloe Gray Moretz, Bette Midler and Finn Wulfard.

"Fidelity"

“Fidelity” is one of the best and, of course, the most frank Russian films of this year. From the scenes of intimacy, which are boldly hardly inferior to the scandalous home video from "Text" performed by Kristina Asmus and Ivan Yankovsky, you can understand: the special jury diploma "For the unlimited faith of actors in the director" at the last Kinotavr Nigina Saifullaeva received an ulterior motive.

Such faith - or trust - would be worth learning from the main character of the film Lena (Evgeny Gromova). Viewers are introduced to Lena even when she suspects her husband Seryozha (Alexander Pal) of treason. One of the signs that alarm Lena is the lack of intimacy: there is no longer any passion between the spouses, but, as her husband rightly notes, “it’s better to have no sex than sluggish”. The gap between the characters only widens the difference in the emotional background and the discrepancy between the interests of the spouses: cold, like Kristen Stewart, Lena works as a gynecologist, expressive Seryozha serves as an actor in the theater. A husband’s colleague, actress Katya (Marina Vasilieva), becomes the alleged homeowner.

Lena does not find the courage to talk about suspicions with Sergei and decides to resolve the situation in a different way - she begins to change. However, the problem predictably does not disappear anywhere, everything only gets worse: during secret dates, the heroine discovers something new, hitherto unknown, and this something in principle threatens her marriage.

The film also involved Alexei Agranovich (he plays the role of a sympathetic leader to Lena) and Anna Kotova-Deryabin (her patient). Pavel Vorozhtsov again tried on the role of a soft-bodied, cowardly man - one of the heroine's boyfriends.

Robo

The rescue robot A-112 was created to help people in extreme situations. He is strong, hardy, fast and makes decisions with the accuracy put by a soulless machine. But somewhere in it, it crashes. However, if software shortcomings are easily eliminated, then the manifestation of empathy and craving for the knowledge of the world around the android is already a big problem. It becomes especially acute when the A-112 escapes from the laboratory.

In the wild, the robot quickly finds a friend, the boy Mitya (the child’s parents, by the way, are developing a lifeguard). Mitya gives the android the name Robo. He communicates with the rescuer as a living creature, not a machine. On the example of friendship with a child, Robo studies human relationships and the world of people, and a boy becomes more confident in himself thanks to a robot.

The creators of the film beat science fiction hits: Robo takes clothes, but refuses the motorcycle, as a joke proposed by the circus artists (allusion to The Terminator). Also, the story of an android with emotions refers to a “Robot named Chappy,” “Robocop,” or “Short Circuit.”

In the director's chair of the project - Sarik Andreasyan, the main role was played by the young actor Daniil Muravyov-Izotov (franchise "Yolki", "Fizruk"). Robo was voiced by Sergey Bezrukov.

“Lenin. Inevitability "

If you’re deja vu every time you look at this tape, don’t be alarmed - you really have already seen Lenin (Yevgeny Mironov) check into a hotel in Switzerland, and Inessa Armand, performed by Victoria Isakova, carefully refills his ears with a cap: full-length painting “Lenin. Inevitability ”was mounted from the same material as the series“ Demon of Revolution ”that was released in 2017. If greatly simplified, the new "Lenin" is one storyline from the old "Demon", finalized in accordance with the requirements of the rental.

However, all this does not mean that the watchers of the series then should not go to the cinema now: the audience will be shown a concentrated, but at the same time laconic story of one large-scale event, which was lost among the intricacies of a multi-series project - the preparation of Lenin's return to Russia in a Sealed carriage. With this film, Vladimir Khotinenko, who, by his own admission, had read a lot of documents and memoirs of that time, tried to answer a question that still excites human minds - was the founder of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics a German spy (he was not a spoiler).

The roles in the film were performed by Daria Ekamasova (Nadezhda Krupskaya), Fedor Bondarchuk (Alexander Parvus), Paulina Andreeva (Sofya Rudneva), Maxim Matveev (Alexey Mezentsev), Alexander Baluev (Prince of Turkestanov) and others.

"Frenchman"

Henri Durand is a French communist and a participant in the resistance of the Second World War (that is, by the standards of the Soviet regime, a very trustworthy person). His son Pierre (Anton Rival) arrives for an internship at Moscow State University and, in parallel with his studies, explores various aspects of Moscow life: shares “one hundred grams” with random acquaintances, attends a ballet class as a free spectator and penetrates secret jazz evenings.

Nevertheless, Pierre’s interest in life in the USSR arouses no less passionate interest among the security services — they recruit a young man to identify his compatriots opposed to the party. At the same time, the student’s past is not as harmless as it seems at first glance: in the Union he was led by a search for his real father, who in the Civil War took the side of the “whites”.

The director and scriptwriter of this black and white tape was the actor and director Andrei Smirnov (“Once upon a time there was a woman”). He dedicated the painting to one of the founders of the human rights organization Moscow Helsinki Group, Alexander Ginzburg. For the first time, "Frenchman" was shown as part of the "Movie Night" in August, and now goes on a wide rental.

Weather Child (Tenki no ko)

High school student Khotak Morishima from a quiet secluded island moves to a huge, noisy and gloomy Tokyo, where it constantly rains. Fortunately, there he meets a girl named Hina Amano, who has a unique ability to stop this rain.

The script for the tape was written and then shot by the famous Japanese animator Makoto Shinkai (this is his previous work “Your Name” in 2016 became the highest grossing anime in history). Weather Child nominated for the Best Foreign Language Film Oscar from Japan. At the time of publication of the article, the critical rating of the picture on Rotten Tomatoes was 100% (viewer critic - 82%).

“A team has gathered to work on the“ Child of the Weather ”, which loves quality films full of details. Seeing "Your Name", these animators told me: "We also want to do this." So the cinematic effect is their merit. As a director, I want the audience - especially the Japanese one - to have the feeling that they have a real world, and not just some kind of abstraction. With each film, the level of detail is growing, ”Sinkai said in an interview with buro 24/7.

“Sorry, we did not find you” (Sorry We Missed You)

Ken Loach is the winner of 15 awards at the Cannes Film Festival, including two Golden Palm Branches. This year, the British director’s tape “Sorry, We Didn’t Find You” also claimed the main prize and, even if it didn’t receive any awards, it gathered positive reviews from critics.

This film is called "The Worldwide Family Drama" - perhaps even timeless. The action of the picture takes place in Britain after the 2008 crisis, however, the images of Turners in many ways resemble Dostoevsky’s little people. They also do not wish harm to anyone, nor are they to blame for their misfortunes, but the cruel world around them makes them despair no-no as they plunge into the abyss, but show aggression.

Turners' fate is really unenviable: mother, Abby, works as a nurse, and father, Ricky, lost his job as a builder and started to deliver. At first, he does not suspect that this simple job is associated with great risk and huge fines. But the main danger faced by the heroes is the collapse of the family. Abby and Ricky love each other and their two children, and therefore are not able to make a choice between the money that is necessary to survive and the time that must be given to relatives.
