Suspected of not receiving rabies vaccination Document sent to office worker October 30 12:21

A company employee in Mizuho-cho, Tokyo was sent a document as if the dog had not been vaccinated for rabies as required by law.

The documents were sent to a 64-year-old male office worker in Mizuho-cho, Tokyo.

According to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department, there is a suspicion of violation of the rabies prevention law as not having registered his dog in the town and not being vaccinated for rabies.

In August, however, a dog was biting on the foot of a high school girl who passed by while taking a walk, and the police officer who received the report asked him about the situation and discovered that he was not vaccinated.

The test showed that the dog was not infected with rabies.

According to the Rabies Prevention Law, vaccinations are required once a year, but the owner said that he thought "it was not mandatory but optional".

The owner has since vaccinated.

Death without treatment when onset

Rabies is a disease that affects people.

If an animal such as an infected dog is bitten, the virus enters the body through the bodily fluid from the wound.

According to the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the incubation period is about 1 to 3 months.

Approximately 60,000 people die annually in the world, but cases of death due to infection in Japan have not been confirmed last year since 1955 due to the spread of vaccination.

In order to prevent rabies, the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare requires that you register your dog and vaccinate your city.
