Candidate of the first season of the Star Academy, the French singer calls on Europe 1 the young participants in the tele-hook musical show to take their time before launching their career.

INTERVIEW

On the occasion of the broadcast of the telefilm States of emergency , in which she plays the main character, Olivia Ruiz was invited on Europe 1, Wednesday. The French singer, who gained notoriety with her adventure in the first season of Star Academy in 2001, calls young participants in musical reality shows to remain cautious.

"It is suggested to people who participate in such programs that the show is an end, while it is only the start of a series of galleys and battles," she laments. "It's dramatic !"

Heard on europe1:

They are often too young, there is a maturity that is necessary

Olivia Ruiz regrets that some shows host very young candidates. Since 2014, for example, the tele-hook program The Voice Kids is competing with children from 6 to 15 years old. "I want to scream at all these kids that I see landing in these emissions 'protect yourself!' or 'wait!' "exasperated the singer. "They are often too young, there is a maturity that is necessary."

"I had lived enough things to handle the confrontation with all the drifts of this profession"

Olivia Ruiz was 21 when she participated in TF1's flagship program. "I was not old, but I had enough experience to deal with all the abuses of this job," she says.

She says that despite her established career, she sometimes thinks that her life would look like if she had not done Star Academy. "Thanks to Star Academy, I had immediate access to a record company and a show producer," she admits. "Otherwise I would have taken what people call 'a normal job' ..."
