Meeting Sunday in Cabourg, the jury Goncourt unveiled the third and final selection for the famous literary prize. They are only four authors still in the running, and only one of them will be crowned on November 4th.

REPORTAGE

A woman and three men. Amélie Nothomb, Jean-Paul Dubois, Olivier Rolin and Jean-Luc Coatelem will be competing this year for the Goncourt prize. These authors, already known to the general public, are part of the last selection of the jury, gathered Sunday in Cabourg (Calvados). This year, it will not be a Goncourt discovery, but rather consecration.

Jean-Paul Dubois share favorite

Jean-Paul Dubois has been a favorite since the beginning. It must be said that he signed a sublime novel, All men do not live the world the same way to the editions of Olivier, a public and critical success. Jean-Luc Coatalem , in The share of the son , at Stock, investigates him on the disappearance of his grandfather, denounced by an anonymous letter. Arrested by the Gestapo in 1943, he was later deported. This novel has touched many readers and juries in this literary return.

For Olivier Rolin , who signs Outside World - what a title ! at Gallimard, the jury made a small exception. His book is not a novel but a travelogue. It does not remain less of the great literature. As for Amelie Nothomb , everyone has welcomed her big comeback this year with Soif , at Albin Michel, her 28th novel in which she retraces the last moments of Jesus himself.

We would not like to decide between these four great authors. The winner of the most prestigious literary prize in the French-speaking world will be announced next Monday, November 4, during the traditional awards ceremony at the Drouant restaurant in Paris.
