German police have launched a campaign in four states against a Lebanese family accused of systematic human trafficking.

Prosecutors in Trier, Rhineland-Palatinate, said two arrest warrants had been executed. The prosecution said there were investigations against family members against the smuggling of foreigners into Germany and other criminal charges.

During the campaign, 28 properties were raided, including 16 properties in Rhineland-Palatinate, 10 properties in North Rhine-Westphalia, one in Berlin and another in Saarland.

More than 360 federal police officers, about 30 employees from the Trier police department and six deputy prosecutors took part in the campaign. Prosecutors have not given further details.
