As wild boar became infected with swine cholera one after another, one wild boar infected with swine cholera was confirmed in Fujioka City and Minamimaki Village, Gunma Prefecture. As a result of this infection check, the number of pig farms in the prefecture to be monitored increased by four to 17.

According to Gunma Prefecture, in mid-October, as a result of genetic testing on wild boars that were dead at golf courses in Fujioka city and wild boars that were captured in the forests of Minamimaki Village, infection of swine cholera was confirmed. So now, 5 wild boars have been confirmed in the prefecture.

The prefecture targets pig farms within a 10-km radius from where wild boars were captured. As a result of this confirmation, the number of pig farms in the prefecture to be monitored increased from 13 to 17.

As a result of the on-site inspection of the added pig farm on the 17th, the prefecture confirmed that there were no abnormalities in the health status and prevention measures of the pigs being raised.
