Queen Rania's wife, King Abdullah II, today sent a letter to the Jordanians addressing them about rumors circulated by some over the past period.

In her letter, Queen Rania responded to what she called a "disproportionate smear campaign" in which she had refused to comment in recent weeks so as not to be accused of hijacking the scene.

"I am writing to you these lines, and I am sure that you never expected that Umm Hussein would look at you with a message with some admonition, but as the parents say to some of them," Queen Rania said in a letter posted on her official Facebook page.
