On Europe 1, the composer discusses his series of conferences around music, "The song of the perineum", which is held in Paris until the end of the year.

INTERVIEW

From October 14 to December 30, André Manoukian performs a "psycho erotic" musical conference every Monday at the Théâtre de l'Oeuvre in Paris, entitled "The song of the perineum". His goal ? "Give back to classical music all its sensuality", thanks to a personal history of the fourth art, as he explains in Media Culture Monday morning.

"There is something terribly organic happening in music"

With "The song of the perineum", André Manoukian likes to stroll in the history of music. The idea is part of a series of trips for several documentaries, in which he discovered music in Cuba, the United States or on the African continent. It was during these journeys that a statement was made: "there is something terribly organic happening in the music". A physical dimension that he wanted to transcribe in his show.

"A history of music like we've never heard it before"

In his lecture, accompanied by his piano, André Manoukian "tries to make alive this music that (he) loves passionately". He tells surprising stories. "Why the first hieroglyphs are the transcript of a magic song?", Or how "the jazz comes from the performance of Robespierre". "A history of music like we've never heard," he hopes.
