The Arts Center at New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) has announced the launch of a series of contemporary Arab cinema works in the capital Abu Dhabi, as part of the Cinemana series, which will be launched tomorrow in its fifth season. It will run until the 25th of next month, featuring films from the Arab world, followed by discussion sessions with filmmakers and filmmakers, as well as faculty at New York University Abu Dhabi.

The Cinemana event will kick off with the screening of the association, a documentary film directed by Reem Saleh. The film, which takes place in one of Cairo's poorest neighborhoods, highlights how people collaborate and collaborate, raising hope for a better future.

Throughout the film, director Reem Saleh reveals the daily struggle of members of this community, and depicts the audience how they deal with such concepts as tradition, disease and death. The film will be followed by a panel discussion with the director, who spent six years filming the details and facts of this community, to be presented through a film work.

Bassam Jarbawi's "Screwdriver" is one of his films this season, which will be screened at Sorbonne Abu Dhabi on Monday, November 4. The film, set in Palestine, follows the story of a teenager who witnesses the death of his friend in a shootout before being captured by Israeli forces and released 15 years later. The film was followed by a discussion session with the director of the film Bassam Jarbawi. The Oscar-nominated documentary, "On Parents and Sons," will be screened at the New York University Abu Dhabi Arts Center on Monday, November 25, and the film, directed by Talal Derki, marks his return home.
