It is the newly elected member Eric M. Runesson who states for Aftonbladet that his fees have been increased to SEK 10,000 a month since July 1, 2019. It is the committee fee that will cover the members' preparations and participation in the Academy's weekly meeting every Thursday.

The general committee fee for the members was previously SEK 6,000 a month according to the Swedish Academy's Annual Report for 2018. In addition to the fee, the members are also entitled to receive dental care and medical care by the Swedish Academy.

“A member who needs dental care can have the cost reimbursed against the bill (taxable benefit). I have no such costs. The same goes for medical care. ”, Eric M. Runesson writes to Aftonbladet.

Members can also have their party clothes paid for by the Academy with up to SEK 30,000 per three years.

"I received such compensation for a coat in 2018, but do not remember what it cost," Runesson told Aftonbladet.
