The Sharjah Art Foundation will inaugurate three exhibitions on its Fall 2019 program: Bani Abidi: Fun Land, Mounir Shahroudi Farmfermian: Shorouq Group, and the March 2019 Project.

The exhibition, organized by Shurooq Group in collaboration with the Irish Museum of Modern Art, is evaluated by Sheikha Hoor bint Sultan Al Qasimi, President of Sharjah Art Foundation, and Rachel Thomas Curator, first at the Irish Museum.

The retrospective of the late artist Mounir Shahroudi Farmanfarmayan, one of the most prominent female artists in Iran, monitors her career spanning more than six decades, through more than 70 works of painting, sculpture and jewelry designs, as well as paper and collage.

The “Fun Land” exhibition will be held at Al Serkal House in the Art Square and will run until January 12.

For 15 years, Bani Abidi's artistic works have been asking questions about personal memory, patriotism and natural politics, by approaching her lenses to present-day Pakistan and the history of South Asia in general. Through a cynical sense of humor, and attention to the performance aspects of daily life, the artist approached her subjects through a cast composed of heroes, real and imagined, with the aim of locating a place and introducing his culture. The exhibition includes videos, photographs, audio and synthetic works, as well as two new works produced by the artist commissioned by the Foundation.

The exhibition `` March 2019 '' will be held in Beit Al Shamsi at Arts Square, Khat Al Yarmouk and Beit El Harma in El Marija Square.

The Mars Project is an annual residency program for artists, providing opportunities to research, activate and present site-specific works through field visits and participation in the Foundation's various events.
