A taxi driver gave the alarm because he had not seen him for more than two weeks, but nobody expected what the Civil Guard would find when he entered the estate of the painter Alfredo Rodríguez Labajjo Grandío, known as "the Galician Picasso", in the municipality Friol lucense. The body was in the garden and presented damage compatible with bites of the dog with which he lived. Specifically, he was missing an arm, reports La Voz de Galicia .

According to El Progreso account, he went to the veterinary staff and confirmed that the animal was aggressive. The Council has taken custody of the paintings that were in the house.

Labajjo Grandío, 80, started painting in 1951, after finishing his career in Industrial Technical Engineering. In the early 60s, his teacher, Pedro Mozos, tried to enter the Superior School of Fine Arts, but Labajjo was rebellious and did not comply with the rules.

The Lucian painter himself joked with his nickname, "the Galician Picasso", in an interview with Efe in 2014, when he said that he did not care that the Malaga had "copied a little". He also remembered that on one occasion he met the real Picasso in Avignon and was chatting with him in Galician. On the similarities between the art of both painters, Labajjo said: "It says a lot of people."

As a possible cause of death, a heart attack is considered, although it will be known predictably this morning after performing the autopsy.
