After 9:00 am on the 7th, in the exclusive economic zone in Japan, about 350 km off the northwest coast of Noto Peninsula, Ishikawa Prefecture, the Fisheries Agency's fishery control vessel “Okuni” collided with a large North Korean fishing boat. The North Korean fishing boat sank and the crew was thrown into the sea.

As a result of the rescue operations by the Fisheries Agency's fisheries control vessels, all 60 North Korean crew members who were thrown into the sea were rescued and all of them were taken over to another North Korean ship.

The fisheries enforcement vessel “Ookuni” of the Fisheries Agency that collided entered Niigata Port at around 10:30 am on the 8th. You can see that there are some scratches on the bow that seems to have collided with the fishing boat.

Regarding the accident, the Fisheries Agency warned that “Ookuni” discovered the fishing boat and discharged it, and said that the activity was legitimate because of the collision caused by the sudden turning of the fishing boat.
