His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and President of the Sharjah Academy for Performing Arts, inaugurated this evening the Sharjah Academy of Performing Arts building located in the University City of Sharjah on Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Road.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah unveiled the commemorative plaque marking the official opening of the academy, then inspecting the corridors of the building, familiar with the training rooms and studios to train and qualify students.

The Academy is the first of its kind in the Arab world specialized in performing and performing arts, and is working to prepare a qualified generation in theater arts in all disciplines, in accordance with the latest methods of teaching and global learning.

The Academy provides a number of programs covering all different fields of theater, according to an academic theoretical and practical study, to graduate qualified cadres of interactors and able to shape the future industry theater diversity of its methods and disciplines.

In a speech to the Director of the Sharjah Academy for Performing Arts, Professor Peter Barlow thanked His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi for his efforts in supporting culture and the arts.

His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah continued on the occasion of the opening of the academy the screening of the play "The Book of God: the Conflict between Light and Darkness" written by His Highness, the production of Sharjah National Theater, and directed by Mohammed Al Ameri.

The play reviewed the conflict between light and darkness, and highlighted the present reality through five consecutive scenes characterized by visual fascination and intellectual depth and historical knowledge.

The theatrical presentation discussed the situation of the Arab-Islamic nation and the conflict between the obscurantist ideas and science and culture that constitute the light and civilization. The play concludes the importance of adhering to the Book of Allah which leads it to light.

The play shed light on the efforts of early Muslim scholars and their science contributed to the development of humanity and NHL, including the West and built his civilization, including Jabir bin Hayyan, Jacob bin Ishaq al-Kindi, Hassan ibn al-Haytham, al-Khwarizmi, al-Razi, al-Farabi and Abu Rayhan al-Biruni.

The Academy building was built on a total area of ​​100,000 square meters. The building includes two breaks and two wings. Each suite includes 12 training rooms for students, in addition to 12 solitary and group training studios equipped with the latest technology.
