Placido Domingo resigns from the Los Angeles Opera

The tenor Plácido Domingo announced on Wednesday his resignation as general director of the Los Angeles Opera (LA Opera) following the controversy generated by the sexual abuse accusations revealed against him.

"As I continue my work to clear my name, I have decided that it is in the best interest of LA Opera to resign as its general director and to leave my future actions," he said in a statement sent to Efe by his representative.
