Mikheil Saakashvili once again announced his return to Georgia. According to him, he needs to help his homeland "return to statehood", which she accidentally lost. Someone who is not too familiar with the habits of the ex-president may decide that this is indeed a risky and dangerous undertaking.

After all, the former Georgian ruler in his country was charged with serious crimes, and in some criminal cases he was already sentenced in absentia to imprisonment for a long term. The current Georgian authorities have repeatedly stated that the fugitive, put on the wanted list more than six years ago, will be arrested immediately after crossing the state border.

Really, Mikhail Nikolozovich decided to climb the sacrificial altar and bring his own freedom to the slaughter to demonstrate to the whole world how infinitely he loves Georgia and how much he is willing to give for the right to be at home? No, do not worry. The promise to return is something like an innocent hobby for a person who considers himself a political expat. I honestly did not check, but it seems that Saakashvili is in the habit of rolling up matches about returning and diving into political life in the period of seasonal and climatic changes. The nature of these statements is associated with some psychic characteristics of the indicated character.

Once he played the infamous clowning with the aforementioned plot. The matter was not limited to just words, a final decision was made to pay a visit to Georgia, and even a ticket to Tbilisi was bought. On the indicated day and hour, members of the United National Movement party created by Saakashvili, with bated breath, were waiting for their leader at the airport. They were ready at the cost of their life to protect the freedom of the leader. Needless to say, the one they passionately dreamed of seeing from the plane’s ramp didn’t come down. Their belief that Saakashvili would fulfill the promise seemed very strange. After all, they, like no one else, knew such properties of the ex-president as reticence and unbridled desire for self-promotion.

Ukraine saves Saakashvili from the role of the long-forgotten clown banished from everywhere. He came there to support the party of Vladimir Zelensky's “Servant of the People” in parliamentary elections and was generally favorably received by the new authorities. For two reasons. On the one hand, the liberal circles of the West, which have a surprisingly short memory, still continue to believe that the experience of administrative and political reforms in Georgia has been extremely successful.

Proven political killings, brutal repression, torture in prison, total control over the media during the reign of Saakashvili did not bother them.

He remains a member of all liberal circles and in this capacity may be useful to the new ruling team in Kiev to establish contacts.

On the other hand, letting the comedian re-enter Ukrainian politics meant driving a hefty hairpin to Petro Poroshenko, who was so hard to get rid of the annoying Georgian emigrant who organized noisy and scandalous protests like a breakthrough from Poland to Ukraine across the border. Well, the last circumstance: the new government itself does not shy from theatricality and self-promotion. So Saakashvili is a person close to her in psychotype.

Be that as it may, the career of the ex-president of Georgia is declining. For Ukraine, he never became his own. The political platform there has long been divided between parties and organizations created more than 20 years ago. And so they had to make a lot of room after Zelensky and his party came to power. But in addition, Saakashvili is not a competitor to the old or new political forces, since he is not able to conduct any serious political activity. His role is scandal and provocation. Therefore, in the current situation, it will very quickly turn out to be a won back and unnecessary card.

Attempts to engage in teaching in the United States ended in nothing. What can this person tell students in general? What is he a great reformer? But it is enough to raise the materials of criminal cases in order to convict the teacher of the lie, dishonesty and something worse. In European politics, with his skills and characteristics, he also has no place. I believe that the time when this unpleasant name will go into oblivion will come quite soon.
