The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has announced that citizens of the UAE can hold diplomatic and special passports to travel to the Central African Republic without a visa as of October 8, 2019.

As for ordinary UAE passport holders, a visa is granted upon arrival upon presentation of a document justifying the purpose of their visit, and payment of visa fees for a period of stay on its territory for a maximum of 90 days.

This is based on the mutual visa exemption agreement between the governments of the United Arab Emirates and the Central African Republic, which was signed on 8 September 2019 in Abu Dhabi City and signed by His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and the Government of the Republic of Africa. HE Sylvie Bebotemon, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Central African Nationals Abroad, can now travel to the Central African Republic without a visa and stay for up to 90 days.

HE Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, praised the Central African Republic's declaration of exempting the UAE citizens from the visa, stressing the distinguished friendly relations of cooperation between the two countries.

He stressed that the entry into force of the agreement reflects the strength of relations between the UAE and the Central African Republic, which was founded on the spirit of mutual understanding and respect and the desire to develop these bilateral relations to reflect the aspirations and orientations of the leaderships of the two countries and serve common goals and interests.

HE Ahmed Sari Al Mazrouei pointed out that this agreement will leave multiple positive effects on the sectors of tourism, trade, investment and others and strengthen the bonds of joint cooperation between the two countries.

He added that the exemption is part of the diplomatic and consular efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation to enhance the UAE's position at the global level. .
