September 28, 1924 the Italian actor Marcello Mastroianni was born. During the Second World War, he ended up in a German camp, but managed to escape from there. Mastroianni later settled in Rome and began performing in an amateur theater. There, the talent of the young man was noticed by the director Lukino Visconti. In the early 1940s, the actor made his film debut, but Visconti starred only in 1957 - in the film "White Nights". Over the course of his film career, Mastroianni has played in more than one hundred films, including Sweet Life, Italian Divorce, Night and Eight and a Half. Fruitful was his collaboration with directors Federico Fellini, Michelangelo Antonioni and Vittorio de Sica.
