Dr Thomas Findel warned that wet swimsuits threaten the child with cystitis; they cause bacteria to easily reach the urinary tract, especially in girls because of their short urinary tract.

The German pediatrician said that the symptoms of cystitis are the urge to urinate, burning during urination and pain in the lower abdomen.

You should consult your doctor as soon as you observe these symptoms to treat cystitis in a timely manner, and to avoid infection of the pelvic nephritis, which damages kidney function. Cystitis is often treated with antibiotics, with frequent drinking of water. To avoid cystitis, wet swimsuits should be changed immediately and avoid sitting on wet or cold surfaces.
